Scuba Diving
Around the World

First-hand scuba diving guides, underwater photography and travel stories from dive destinations around the world.

Explore the World, One Dive at a Time

I’m Rick Parker, a scuba diver and underwater photographer from the UK. I first learned to dive in Bali in 2022, and since then scuba diving has completely changed the way I travel.

What started with an Open Water course has taken me from colourful coral reefs and volcanic sand to shark dives, wrecks and some unforgettable encounters with marine life. Along the way, I’ve also developed a real love for underwater photography, particularly the smaller creatures that are often easy to swim straight past.

Underwater Parker is where I share those experiences first-hand. You’ll find detailed scuba diving destination guides, honest accounts of the dives, underwater photographs and plenty about what each place is like above the surface too.

Whether you’re planning your next diving trip or simply looking for somewhere new to explore, hopefully you’ll find some useful information and a little inspiration along the way.

Featured Scuba Diving Destinations

Every diving destination offers something different. Some are all about sharks and larger marine life, while others reward you for slowing down and searching the reef for nudibranchs, frogfish and other smaller creatures.

These are a few of the places that have really stood out during my travels.

Where I’ve Been Diving

My dive journey started in Bali in 2022 and has since taken me to dive sites across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

I don’t really keep a traditional paper logbook. Instead, Underwater Parker has gradually become my dive log, with each new destination adding another story, set of photographs and experience to the site.

Use the interactive map below to explore where I’ve dived so far. The markers show individual destinations, while the highlighted countries give you an idea of just how far the journey has taken me.

From warm tropical reefs to colder waters, shark diving and macro photography, every destination has offered something different.

Browse the countries and dive locations below to find first-hand guides, underwater photographs and practical information from the places I’ve actually dived.

More Than Just the Dive

Scuba diving might be the reason I travel to many of these places, but it’s rarely the whole story.

Part of what I enjoy about travelling to dive is discovering what surrounds the dive sites too. That might mean finding a great little café after a morning underwater, exploring somewhere completely new, meeting local people or simply sitting on a beach with a cold drink once the diving is finished for the day.

That’s why the destination guides on Underwater Parker cover more than what happens underwater. Wherever possible, I also include how we got there, where we stayed and some of the places we enjoyed along the way.

Share the dive. Spread the adventure.
